Kaffarah (also spelled Kaffara)<\/strong> refers to a form of compensation in Islam for serious violations. If a person knowingly commits specific actions without a valid reason, they are required to pay Kaffarah as outlined in the Qur\u2019an and Sunnah<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What Requires Kaffarah in Islam?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

There are five main situations that require a Muslim to pay Kaffarah:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  2. Breaking a sworn oath<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n

  4. Committing manslaughter<\/strong> (intentional or accidental)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. Practicing zihar<\/strong>, an outdated pre-Islamic form of divorce by estrangement<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

        Fidya (Fedyah)<\/strong> and Kaffarah<\/strong> are both charitable compensations, but they apply in different circumstances:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
