The recent Gu season in Somalia started with promising rainfall, partially replenishing pasture and water in many parts of the country. However, the risk of riverine and flash floods remains high, leading to further displacement and damage. MAA’s drought relief efforts aim to mitigate the impact of extreme weather conditions, helping communities build resilience against future droughts.
With an estimated 1.8 million acutely malnourished children, including 477,700 projected to be severely malnourished, MAA’s health care initiatives are crucial in addressing malnutrition in Somalia.
